Embellishment Manufacturing for Apparel Brands, From 50 Pieces
Prophesy Apparel (PRP) is a garment factory in Dongguan, China, founded in 2015. Brands come to us when a design carries decoration an ordinary cut-and-sew shop can’t handle: laser-cut panels, heat-set pleats, 3D silicone patches, hand beading, chenille and production embroidery. Most factories that handle heavy embellishment want 300+ pieces. We start at 50 pieces per style, per colour.

Coat
Tees, hoodies, sweatshirts, shirts and knitwear, made to your tech pack (OEM), developed from a brief (ODM) or as private label on our base styles. Graphic tees and heavyweight blanks run 200–280 GSM and hoodies 280–400 GSM, including garment-dyed and acid-wash styles. For embroidery, appliqué and rhinestone on tees, see custom decorated T-shirts.
Jeans
Trousers
Shorts
Skirt
Leggings
Cargo Pants
Sweatpants
Our expertise in design and production ensures that each piece meets the highest standards of comfort, durability, and style. Whether you’re looking for casual wear or performance-driven apparel, we offer flexible customization options to perfectly match your brand’s needs.
Blazer
Trench Coat
Parka
Bomber Jacket
Leather Jacket
Raincoat
Fleece Jacket
Jackets, coats and outerwear, including select genuine and PU leather jackets. Laser cutting runs in-house on a 3-metre format, so a long coat panel or a full cut-out front is cut in one piece instead of being joined. One thing we will not do is embroider a waterproof-coated shell: the needle holes break the coating.
Sports Bra
Tracksuit
Running Shorts
Yoga Pants
Gym Wear
Compression leggings, sports bras, training and running shorts, gym tops and full matching sets, 150–280 GSM depending on the style. Flatlock seaming, bonded seams and all-over sublimation print are done in-house, so a legging is not passed between three factories during production.
Maxi Dress
Midi Dress
Mini Dress
Cocktail Dress
Evening Gown
A-line Dress
Woven and knit dresses are where much of our decoration ends up: heat-set pleated skirts and dresses, beaded bodices, sequin embroidery and laser-cut details. Pleats are set on polyester and other thermoplastic fabrics. On 100% cotton a heat-set pleat drops out in the first wash, so cotton dresses get shirring or smocking instead.

Decoration We Run, and Where Each One Is Made
These are the techniques we run, compared on the points that change an order: what fabric they work on, what they fail on, how they wash, whether there is a one-time fee, and whether the work stays on our own floor or goes to a partner facility in our production network. Sequin embroidery runs in-house on the same 24-head machines as our embroidery. For which fabric suits which technique in more depth, see our materials guide; for the full list, see embellishment capabilities.
| Technique | Works on | Avoid | Wash behaviour | One-time fee | Where it’s made |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Laser cutting | Polyester, nylon, poly mesh, neoprene, scuba, PU leather — the cut edge seals itself | 100% cotton, linen, silk, wool (the edge scorches brown). PVC is never laser cut: it releases chlorine gas | Sealed synthetic edge does not fray and needs no hemming | None | In-house, 3-metre format |
| Production embroidery | Wovens and backed knits; lettering down to about 5 mm | Waterproof-coated fabric, genuine leather, ultralight fabric without backing, high-stretch knits without cut-away backing | Stitched into the garment | Digitizing USD 40–100 per style | In-house, 24 heads |
| Heat-set pleating | Polyester and poly blends, acetate, nylon; chiffon, georgette, satin, taffeta | 100% cotton, linen, viscose (shirr or smock these instead); fabric over 200 gsm | Permanent on 100% polyester washed below 40°C; drops out above 60°C or in a hot dryer | None, but pleating uses 2.5–3× the flat fabric | Partner facility |
| 3D silicone patch | Fabric that takes 150–170°C for 10–15 seconds | Thin nylon, ultralight polyester, wool, leather and PU, waterproof-coated fabric (use the sew-on version) | 50+ washes at 40°C; fails by edge lift, not by the silicone breaking down | Mould USD 40–100 per style | Partner facility |
| Hand beading | Wovens of 80–100 gsm and up; knits only when interlined | Lightweight knits, high-stretch fabric, coated fabric | Dry clean, or cold hand wash in a mesh bag | None | Partner workshop |
| Hotfix rhinestone | Stable, non-stretch fabric | Lightweight knits, high-stretch fabric, coated fabric | 40°C gentle cycle, no tumble drying; starts shedding after about 20–30 washes | None | Partner facility |
| Chenille patch | Heavy wovens, melton wool, twill, canvas, denim, heavy fleece | Lightweight knits, stretch fabric, wovens under 120 gsm; letters under about 5 cm or strokes under 8 mm turn to mush | Sewn: lasts the life of the garment. Heat-press only: edges lift after 10–20 washes | None | Partner facility |
Every technique starts at the same 50 pieces per style, per colour. Photos flatten texture, so if you want to handle the techniques before sampling, request the embellishment swatch card on our embellishment page. It carries real samples of pleating, laser cutting, silicone patches, beading, chenille and specialty embroidery; shipping is paid by the requester.

When PRP Is Not the Right Factory
Some orders are better placed elsewhere, and it is quicker to say so here than after a sample round.
- Fewer than 50 pieces per colour. A style in three colours starts at 150 pieces. If the plan is 20 of each, a local workroom or print-on-demand service fits better.
- A stock blank with a simple print. Our sampling (7–14 days, USD 80–250 per set) is built for cut-and-sew and decoration. For an off-the-shelf blank, a print shop is faster and cheaper.
- Scrubs and medical wear. We do not make them.
- Certified hi-vis bought as a finished certification. We produce the garment; the EN ISO 20471 / ANSI-ISEA 107 certification attaches to the reflective tape and fluorescent fabric, which the buyer specifies or supplies.
- A design that stacks many partner-routed techniques on a tight date. In the industry generally, each extra technique sent to a different partner facility adds roughly 3–5 days to bulk, and three or more add roughly 7–10. Laser cutting and embroidery stay on our own floor; pleating, silicone patches, chenille and beading bring partner facilities in, and the schedule should allow for it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum order at Prophesy Apparel (PRP)?
50 pieces per style, per colour, so one style in three colourways is 150 pieces. The same minimum applies to beading, pleating, silicone patches and styles that combine several techniques.
How long do sampling and bulk production take?
Sampling takes 7–14 days per round, with 1–3 rounds standard and USD 80–250 per sample set. Bulk production takes 25–45 days from the approved sample.
Which decoration does PRP do in-house, and which goes to partners?
Laser cutting (3-metre format), 24-head embroidery and sequin embroidery are done in-house. Pleating, 3D silicone patches, chenille, hand beading and hotfix rhinestone are done by partner facilities in our production network.
Are there one-time fees for decoration?
Embroidery carries a one-time digitizing fee of USD 40–100 per style, and 3D silicone patches carry a one-time mould fee of USD 40–100 per style. Spread over 50 pieces that is USD 0.80–2.00 per piece; over 300 pieces it is USD 0.13–0.33.
What fabric can be laser cut?
Polyester, nylon, poly mesh, neoprene, scuba and PU leather, because the laser seals the cut edge so it does not fray. 100% cotton, linen, silk and wool scorch to a brown edge, and PVC is never laser cut because it releases chlorine gas.
Do you make scrubs or certified hi-vis workwear?
We do not make scrubs or medical wear. We manufacture hi-vis garments to customer-specified certified fabrics and tapes; the certification is arranged or specified by the buyer.
